Guanajuato is a lively tourist town rich in history and tradition. With over 3,000 alleys, the town is a labyrinth of narrow passages that are mostly impassable by cars. Traffic circulates underground in a network of tunnels that zig zag beneath the pedestrian streets above. The old world charm, narrow stone and hilly allies, and the maze of tunnels underneath really capture the imagination and offer endless opportunities to find something new to discover.

Guanajuato is a popular location for conferences and festivals. It is also home to one of the largest art festivals in Latin America, Festival Cervantino International.
