‘Casa Principal’ and ‘the Studio’ 

Casa Observatorio is 2 bedroom/2 bath property that sleeps up to 6 adults.  The home can be used as one unit or separated into two distinct apartments- ‘Casa Principal’ and ‘the Studio’ – each offering private entrances, kitchens, and baths. 

CASA PRINCIPAL: The main house is known for its jaw dropping views of the city.  Split across three floors, the home begins with the first floor master bedroom. The bedroom has exposed wooden beams, a small terrace with a view of the alley, and on-suite bath. The next floor is the living room. Architectural details include exposed brick and beams and a wall of windows for stunning panoramic views of the city. When the full-sized ‘Murphy Bed’ is down, this room easily doubles as a second bedroom. The kitchen crowns the house. There are full size appliances including an oven (not standard in Guanajuato homes) and a washing machine. Doors from the kitchen open wide and directly onto the terrace creating an an indoor/outdoor cooking experience and a lovely spot to enjoy Guanajuato’s delightful weather and jaw dropping views of the city. 

THE STUDIO: The Studio is a smaller, more economical alternative to the main house.  Same great location, a private entrance, bath,and  kitchenette — but no views. Foldable chairs and tables let you adjust the space for how you eat, study, or chill. It is just what you need for a short-term stay in Guanajuato. 

CASA OBSERVATORIO: Open the joining interior door and combine the two units for additional space. 

PARKING:, Most tourist activities are within a short walk from the house, as such cars are not need and not recommended. The tunnels, twists, and narrow roads of Guanajuato can be a car rental nightmare. And like most homes in Guanajuato’s historical district, Casa Observatorio sits on a cobblestone alleyway without direct car access or parking at the property. Luckily there is a government parking deck “Las Huertas’ at the beginning of ally. Should parking be needed, Las Huertas offers hourly as well as parking packages for overnight and long term rental.
