Immerse Yourself!

Guanajuato is a great place to study Spanish. Unlike many other popular tourist towns in Mexico, Spanish remains the dominant language spoken to foreigners. Being immersed in the language, culture, and everyday life of Mexico will expand your vocabulary and provide ample opportunities to practice.

—And practice is how it happens.

Student Friendly

Option 1

Continuous Enrollment Immersion Programs

The curriculums are designed to make it easy for tourists, retirees, executives…really anyone looking to learn Spanish. Language classes are not only a great way to learn Spanish, but they can be a fun way to explore Mexico, make friends, and experience the Guanajuato community.

Spanish Experience Center of Guanajuato

Casa Observatorio partners with the Spanish Experience Center of Guanajuato (SECGTO). Let SECGTO help bring your dream of speaking Spanish closer to reality. They have the right combination of qualifications, experience, and talent to help you reach your language goals.

Supplement your studies with private tutoring. This option is great for those who want privacy, one-on-one attention, exam preparation, or focus on a specific area of expertise (eg law, medicine). The Spanish Experience Center of Guanajuato can help you organize a private tutor.

Option 4

(The University Language Lab)

The University of Guanajuato (UG) prepares Mexican students to teach Spanish as a second language. During the University’s school year, these aspiring instructors practice teaching at the University’s language lab, CAADI.

CAADI is a fabulous place to practice Spanish. It is is open to the public (for a nominal fee) and housed at the UG School of Idiomas which is only steps from Casa Observatorio.

Option 5

Find a friend! Guanajuato is full of native Spanish speakers eager to practice their English. Meet for a coffee or tequila at one of the many cafes and enjoy the conversation. Who knows, you might make a life-long friend or two. The Spanish Experience Center of Guanajuato can help you find an intercambio.
